Photocopying

Found myself reverting back to using painting as my final medium, and when I realised I was doing this I made myself look to my photocopies that I had picked out as design sources (which I would normally transcript into paintings) and view them as a piece in themselves. I want to 'test the waters' of my work and people's response to it by submitting a material that I normally feel is just a source for further works. Could they exist as a new autonomous unit of artworks for me?

I had a thought that the process of replicating photographs through photocopying is much like that of our own memory pattern - we may 're-visit' the same image more than once, and by our remembering, it often becomes altered or distorted through time; so despite the essence of the main image being present, its appearance has simultaneously changed to a degree.
